Abstract

City service survey 2001 canvassed citizens' views on, for example, the present state of local government and public services. Questions revolved around residential areas and living conditions, day care services, public child welfare clinics, secondary and senior secondary schools, health care services, immigrants, cultural and recreational services, Internet and information services, flow of public information, financing various services, and the difficulties the respondents or their family members had faced in everyday life. The respondents assessed their willingness to migrate, and whether they considered their home municipalities to be safe or unsafe. Background variables included the respondent's age, sex, marital status, education, number of children, professional status, car ownership, length of commute, and the modes of transportation used for commuting.
