Sisällön kuvaus

The archived data consist of family interviews about changes in the lives of families with children in Finland in the 1990s. The interviews were conducted with parents and children in Tampere and Jyväskylä regions in 1996. Views were probed on the structure of the family, living conditions, changes in the family in the 90s, leisure activities, social relationships, and future plans. The data include 59 interviews and 23 summaries with a total length of 1,342 pages.

The dataset is only available in Finnish.

The interviews were collected in Tampere and Jyväskylä during the year 1996. Families representing different social classes were selected for the interviews. In addition, families selected for the interviews had to have at least one child under the age of 13.

The data (82 RTF files) comprise interviews of 23 families and summaries of these interviews. There were a total of 59 interviews and the size of the data is 1,342 pages. Additionally, HTML files were created based on the RTF files.

The interviews were transcribed into a digital format and anonymised during the research project. Parts of the data were further anonymised during archiving.

The interviews were recorded and later transcribed into text.
