Sisällön kuvaus

The dataset consists of group interviews of seven multi-agency teams dealing with drug and alcohol use prevention among young people in Helsinki, Finland. Altogether, the groups comprised 57 professionals. Each group was interviewed three times. The method used was research intervention where the members of the groups were brought face to face with their own attitudes in order to have them debate and evaluate their attitudes, with the researcher functioning as an interpreter and a critic.

The main themes in the interviews were the activities of the group, advantages and disadvantages of multi-agency teams and reasons behind and possible solutions for alcohol and drug use of young people.

The dataset is only available in Finnish.

According to the researcher's estimate, there were about 50 multidisciplinary teams in preventive youth work in Helsinki in 2001. A motivation letter was sent to the teams via regional coordinators of the Klaari project. Suitability of the teams willing to participate was further assessed in terms of whether the team dealt with questions of preventive youth work and whether it had regular meetings.

To prevent identification, direct and strong indirect identifiers of interviewees and third persons (such as names of persons and workplaces) were removed from the interviews. In cases where names were repeated within interviews, they were consistently replaced with pseudonyms or distinguishing letters (e.g. [town A]). A round of introductions was removed from the beginning of each interview because anonymising them would have been arduous and background information regarding the interviewees is already available at the beginning of each interview. FSD's anonymisations are indicated with [square brackets].

The archived data consist of the transcripts of group interviews. Audiovisual records were not archived.
