Abstract

The data consist of food diaries of Finnish people which they wrote about a single day; 12 April 2013. The food diaries included information on, for instance, what was eaten and where, at what time and with whom did eating take place, what kind of ingredients were used, and what kind of food was favoured and avoided. Some participants included pictures of their food in the diaries.

The dataset is only available in Finnish.

Writing instructions were available on the website of the Finnish Literature Society (SKS). The invitation to participate was sent to the Finnish Literature Society's respondent network and advertised widely in different media. Participants were able to deliver their texts by using the form on the website of the Finnish Literature Society, by email or by letter.

486 texts in TXT and HTML files (in Finnish). Length of the texts ranged from one to 17 pages.

References to names and other direct identifiers as well as indirect identifiers referring to third persons and sensitive content were removed from the data during archiving.
