        <serName>Employment Surveys of Tampere University Graduates</serName>

          <p>Tampere University have regularly monitored the employment situation of the recently graduated. The studies focus on students' employment situation a year after graduation. Since 1994, those who have completed a master's degree have been surveyed. Employment surveys have also been conducted for Tampere University postgraduates since 1996. Additionally, employment of bachelor graduates has been surveyed from the 2010 graduates onwards. FSD collections contain data from 1994 to 2016 and from 2021 to 2022. Archiving of the series has been discontinued.</p>
          <p>Each dataset includes several questions about respondents' search for work and current employment situation. Other themes include difficulties in finding employment and the knowledge and skills needed at work. Background information covers respondent's gender, field of study and faculty. Surveys are conducted by the student services of Tampere University.</p>

      <abstract>
        <p>The survey of Tampere University graduates collects information on issues related to employment and education. The survey covers the job situation and skills needed for the job, work-life skills acquired through studies and factors that influenced employment.</p>
        <p>Respondents were first asked about their current work situation. Respondents were also asked how well the job corresponded with their education. Respondents were asked to rate the importance of a number of different skills and knowledge in their current job. Next, respondents were asked to rate the extent to which university education developed these work skills. Respondents were also asked about sustainability knowledge and its relevance to their current job. In the next section, respondents were asked to rate the extent to which different factors, such as the combination of subjects in their degree, had contributed positively to getting a job. They were also asked to assess the reasons for their difficulties in finding a job. At the end of the questionnaire, respondents were asked whether they had received any information or support on employment prior to graduation.</p>
        <p>Background variables included the respondent's gender, faculty and work-related variables such as type of employment, employer sector and occupational status.</p>

          <p>All graduates of the Tampere University in the academic year 2021-22 for whom a contact details was found were invited to participate in the survey. The invitation to participate was sent by email and SMS approximately one year after graduation, and 683 people responded. The survey was completed online using a Microsoft Forms.</p>

In the multiple-choice background variables, the 'Other, please specify' open-ended responses have been coded as 'Muu'.</notes>
