Abstract
The 1995 international news flow study contained news stories from 46 countries. The material of some countries covers foreign news well; others comprise only a part or are very limited in scope. Extensive selection has been provided from Germany, Great Britain, Finland, and Japan. The number of media under study (radio/TV news, newspapers) varies: from ten in Germany to one media in several countries. Many coders have participated in the data collection, and no reliability tests have been carried out between the different countries. The material was coded in accordance with the international coding instructions for research.
