Abstract

The survey studied voting behaviour in the 1999 European Parliamentary elections in Finland. The respondents were asked whether they had already voted in the European Parliamentary elections, or if they were going to vote in them. In addition, the respondents were asked which political party's candidate they had voted for or were going to vote for, and what issues had been the most import for them in making the voting decision (e.g. Finnish internal politics, issues related to Finland's role in Europe). The respondents were also asked to name the candidate they had voted for. In conclusion, the respondents were asked to say for which party's candidate they had voted in the previous Finnish parliamentary elections.

Background variables included the respondent's gender, age group, and type of municipality of residence.
