Abstract
The purpose of the survey was to study the employment situation of those who graduated from the University of Tampere during 1994-1996, and various factors related to job seeking. There were questions about the respondents' current employment, months of working in general, months of working in jobs commensurate with education received, and number of months the respondents had been unemployed before their first job after graduation. The respondents were also asked whether they had worked under the course of their studies in an area related with their field of studies. Those currently working were asked about field of activities, and whether the demands of the present job were commensurate with a university degree. Moreover, the respondents were asked about the most important job seeking channel, factors which in their view affect landing a job, and what kinds of properties are valued by employers. The respondents who had sought jobs after graduation were asked what job seeking methods they had used, and what factors had impeded or rendered finding a job difficult in their minds.
Background variables included the respondent's gender, and information on the degree (degree programme, the year the studies began).

Completeness of Data and Restrictions
In three years, there has been some changes in the questionnaire, although no major alterations have been made. This makes it possible to appraise all questions during the whole observation period. However, some new questions have been added since 1994, and for them comparisons over the whole period are not possible.
The data do not contain open-ended questions. Background variables obtained from the student register were re-categorised when necessary to minimise the risk of identification.
Weighting
There are no weight variables in the data.
