Abstract
The study consists of interviews with Finnish women living in rural areas. The data were collected in 1998, 1999, and 2000, and cover women of different ages with various occupations, and living in various regions. The interviews included women's personal experiences and thoughts related to work, other activities, ways of life, changes, and plans for the future.
The dataset is only available in Finnish.

The interviews were conducted in 19998, 1999 and 2000. A total of 34 women living in the countryside in sparsely populated areas and small population centres (under 500 inhabitants) were interviewed. Different types of rural areas were represented, with the exception of Northern Finland. The interviewees were selected among the participants in a survey in 1993.

Completeness of Data and Restrictions
The diaries were recorded in digital format in the research project and they were anonymised during the archiving process: names of the interviewees, other persons mentioned and places were changed or removed.
25 out of 34 interviews were archived. Some of the participants could not be reached for their consent for archiving the data.
