Abstract
The archived data consist of 3,500 tales or stories told by Finnish children aged under 16 and recorded in electronic, written format. The participatory and narrative Storycrafting method was used to collect them. Data collection took place between 1995 and 2005, mainly by the nationwide Satukeikka project coordinated by the National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health (STAKES), and some by the Children are Telling network. Hundreds of employees in family day care services, day nurseries, schools, clubs, and child health clinics participated in the project, as well as many parents. The data include stories elicited from both individual children and groups, and they are either in Finnish or in Swedish (the two official languages in Finland).
The dataset is only available in the original languages (Finnish or Swedish).
