Abstract
The survey charted Finnish attitudes towards alcohol consumption and various alcohol policy measures with the help of 14 questions.
Questions covered, for example, the current level of alcohol consumption, general attitudes towards alcohol use, official supervision, limit for drink driving, alcohol locks, alcohol tax, alcohol advertising, alcohol use of close relatives, personal experiences of threat or harassment from an intoxicated person, dealing with people who are very intoxicated or passed out in public, and allocation of resources in alcohol awareness.
Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, education, occupational status, household composition, occupational status of the household head, employment status, household size, household annual income, place of residence according to various classifications, and number of children in the household.

Probability: Multistage
Over 1,000 Finnish people aged over 18 were interviewed for the survey. The interviews were conducted via telephone omnibus. Altogether 1,004 people responded. The omnibus sample was drawn using multistage stratified sampling methods. The sample received from the Population Register Centre was divided into quotas according to the respondents' age, gender and municipality of residence. In every household, the person who met the conditions established by the quotas (i.e. gender and age) was interviewed.
