Abstract
This dataset consists of four interviews with adult social work clients in Tampere, Finland. Themes of the interviews included applying for basic social assistance, importance of social assistance for personal finances, and the role of their appointed social worker. The data were collected after the transfer of the responsibility for granting basic social assistance from municipal social welfare offices to the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela).
The interviews discussed experiences of applying for social assistance via Kela as opposed to the municipality, and how the transfer had affected the participants. The interviews also discussed how bureacracy related to social assistance could be reduced and how applying could be developed.
Background information included month and year of interview as well as gender and age of interviewee.
The dataset is only available in Finnish.
