Abstract

The data consists of writings in which respondents talk about their experiences of adolescent loneliness. The purpose of the collection of writings was to gain insights into the meanings of loneliness in adolescence and the impact of loneliness experiences in later life. They were allowed to write about their own experiences in a completely free-form way. The writing insructions also included a few questions to help you with your writing.

The background data include gender and age group. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.

The writing call was distributed on social media, for example in the Facebook groups "yksinäiset yhteen", "yksinäisten ihmisten vertaistuki" and "yksinäisten keskusteluryhmä" , as well as on the vauva.fi and kaksplus.fi discussion platforms. In addition, the data collection was advertised with a printed advertisement in Kouvola City Library, Töölö Library and Kouvola Porukkatalo.

Completeness of Data and Restrictions

During archiving, the data was checked to ensure the anonymity of the respondents. No need for anonymisation was found in the data.

The original data included 18 writings, but two authors did not give the archiving permission. These two writings have been removed from the archived data set.

Citation Requirement

The data and its creators shall be cited in all publications and presentations for which the data have been used. The bibliographic citation may be in the form suggested by the archive or in the form required by the publication.
