Abstract
The qualitative dataset consists of 102 accounts of people's experiences of fear and intimidation at work in Finland. The participants were asked to provide some essential background variables such as their gender, the branch and size of the organisation etc. They were asked to describe what they were afraid of and why, what had led to the situation and by what means had they been intimidated. The writers were also invited to describe situations where they themselves had resorted to intimidation at work and what the consequences had been, and how the atmosphere of fear had affected the workplace in general and the interpersonal relations there.
The data were collected as part of the LEAR (Leadership, Power and Fear) research project conducted by the Department of Management Studies at the University of Tampere. The project was funded by the Academy of Finland and the Finnish Work Environment Fund. The project opened an online research platform in June 2008 and invited voluntary participants to write narratives about their experiences. The range of participants varied from workers to high management.
The dataset is only available in Finnish.

The participants' accounts were collected through an online service, which was available from June 2008 to March 2009. The participants were mainly employees who had experienced intimidation at the workplace but some people in management positions also sent their stories.
