Abstract
The survey of Tampere University graduates collects information on issues related to employment and education. The survey covers the job situation and skills needed for the job, work-life skills acquired through studies and factors that influenced employment.
Respondents were first asked about their current work situation. Respondents were also asked how well the job corresponded with their education. Respondents were asked to rate the importance of a number of different skills and knowledge in their current job. Next, respondents were asked to rate the extent to which university education developed these work skills. Respondents were also asked about sustainability knowledge and its relevance to their current job. In the next section, respondents were asked to rate the extent to which different factors, such as the combination of subjects in their degree, had contributed positively to getting a job. They were also asked to assess the reasons for their difficulties in finding a job. At the end of the questionnaire, respondents were asked whether they had received any information or support on employment prior to graduation.
Background variables included the respondent's gender, faculty and work-related variables such as type of employment, employer sector and occupational status.
