Abstract

The data is part of a survey conducted by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare, which aimed to provide information on the activities, scope and content of round-the-clock child protection units. This dataset consists of a survey of service providers, the purpose of which was, among other things, to map the operation of service providers providing round-the-clock child protection services, the number of units, the capacity of care places, the availability and turnover of staff, and the quality of operations.

The first question asked was about staff turnover in the units and the availability of staff. The questionnaire also asked how the service provider was trying to attract staff and how staff turnover and availability problems had affected the operation of the unit. Next, the quality and quality management of the service, the use of experts by experience and whether the unit monitors the effectiveness of the care provided were asked. Experiences in improving the monitoring of services were also asked about. Further questions were raised as to whether the service would continue to operate in the same way or whether there would be changes.

The background variables are information on which provider is responsible for the provision of child protection services and how many units are part of the child protection service run by the service provider.
