Aila boosts data use and user numbers
Aila Data Service, launched in May 2014, has significantly increased the use of archived data and user numbers. In 2014, the data archive received 1,068 access applications (in 2013: 258 applications) and delivered 1,403 datasets for reuse (in 2013: 597).
The changes in access application numbers are partly due to a changes in procedure. When paper applications were used, users could request several datasets with one application. In the online service Aila, each dataset requires a separate application. Some users also downloaded the requested dataset more than once which had an impact on the number of datasets delivered.
At the end of 2014, Aila had 727 registered users. Six per cent were from outside Finland.
