Sisällön kuvaus

The survey studied Finnish political attitudes and opinions on political parties. The respondents were asked how favourable their opinion was regarding the Social Democratic Party of Finland, the Centre Party of Finland, the National Coalition Party, the Left Alliance and the Green League. A number of attributes (e.g. incompetent leaders, promotes the interests of its supporters) were listed and the respondents were asked to which party they could be applied. The respondents also assessed government performance in different issues (e.g. employment situation, needs of families with children).

Opinions on the significance of the party leaders of the Centre Party, the Social Democratic Party, and the National Coalition Party were charted. Voting behaviour was studied by asking how likely the respondents would be to vote for different parties if the parliamentary elections were held at the time of the survey and which party they voted for in the 1992 local government elections.

Background variables included, among others, the respondent's year of birth, gender, marital status, mother tongue, household composition, household's annual gross income, age when finished studying full-time, basic and vocational education, occupational group, industry of employment, employer type, trade union membership, political orientation on the left-right axis, self-perceived social class, and province of residence.
