[q1] How interested are you in issues pertaining to Finland's EU membership?

[q2] How well informed do you feel about such issues?

[q3_1] Being the neighbour of the unstable Russia, Finland is more secure as a member of the EU than outside the Union

[q3_2] EU membership fees are far too high when compared with the advantages brought by the membership

[q3_3] Although the EU has its problems, it is nevertheless the only power that can lead and control Europe's development

[q3_4] EU funding should be used to subsidize Finland's remote rural areas rather than to support future member countries

[q3_5] Joining EMU (Economic and Monetary Union) was the right decision for Finland

[q3_6] There is enough reliable information available to everybody about matters related to Finland's EU membership

[q3_7] Finland should leave the EU

[q3_8] In order for Finland to succeed, it has to participate in global cooperation and trade, EU membership alone is not enough

[q3_9] Finland should be capable of ensuring its own security in all circumstances, others cannot help us

[q3_10] Even though EU enlargement to Eastern Europe will be costly, it is politically and morally necessary

[q3_11] The USA acts correctly in world politics and deserves the support of the Finns

[q3_12] I have no idea what the Finnish members of the European Parliament have done or aim to do

[q3_13] Finland has been able to influence EU's decision-making

[q3_14] Finland has been able to retain its national identity even as an EU member

[q3_15] The Swedes were wise to vote 'no' to the Euro and EMU

[q3_16] If I did not know Finland is an EU member, I would not notice it in my everyday life

[q3_17] The European Parliament is just a debating club which has no real influence on the decision-making in the EU

[q3_18] In future, the role of the European Parliamentary elections will grow and they will bceome a significant part of our political system

[q3_19] The EU should work more efficiently at improving European competitiveness, because otherwise new jobs will be created in America and Asia

[q3_20] Finland should join Nato

[q3_21] Finnish policy-makers are too concentrated on international issues and forget domestic problems

[q3_22] EU's development into a federation would increase the power of public authority and decrease an individual's power of decision-making

[q3_23] Being the neighbour of the unstable Russia, it'd be better for Finland to be a member of Nato rather than remaining unallied

[q3_24] I wouldn't support Finland's Nato membership even if the government favoured it

[q3_25] A common defence policy for the EU is an utopian plan, because without the USA it has no real military power

[q3_26] By joining the EU Finland has increased its operational opportunities both in the East and the West

[q3_27] EU should not take any new members for a long time after the ten new members join the Union in the spring of 2004

[q3_28] EU membership has caused unreasonable problems for Finnish agriculture

[q3_29] Globalisation of international economy will increase global welfare

[q3_30] EU should become a strong counterbalance to the USA in world economy and politics

[q3_31] Unless EU countries thoroughly renew themselves, they will become museums of outdated economic and political structures

[q3_32] Globalisation means that Finland will lose an increasing amount of jobs to so-called cheap labour countries

[q4_1] Proposals and views connected with the EU constitutional treaty: The EU should become a tight federation

[q4_2] Proposals and views connected with the EU constitutional treaty: The EU should be kept as loose a coalition as possible

[q4_5] Proposals and views connected with the EU constitutional treaty: Common defence policy should be created for the EU

[q4_6] Proposals and views connected with the EU constitutional treaty: Taxation should be decided on by majority voting

[q4_7] Proposals and views connected with the EU constitutional treaty: The EU shoud be more open and transparent
