Sisällön kuvaus

The data consists of writings by parents of young children about their children's night sleep. The gathering of writings sought parents with children under school age in the family who had experienced night wakings, interrupted sleep and/or constant tiredness caused by children's night sleepiness.

Background information includes gender, age, family structure, labour market status and education. The data is organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.

Non-probability: Availability

The writing call was distributed on notice boards in child health clinics, in the magazine "Lapsen maailma" and on the magazine's information channels, as well as on the social media of some family organisations. The call was also distributed on the researcher's own Twitter account.

The data were collected for the purposes of academic or literary expression. Some personal information essential for the reuse of the data, such as indirect identifiers referring to the writer, was purposely not removed.

The original data included 53 writings, but four authors did not give the archiving permission. These four writings have been removed from the archived data set. In addition, one writing with only the respondent's background information was removed from the archived data.

The data and its creators shall be cited in all publications and presentations for which the data have been used. The bibliographic citation may be in the form suggested by the archive or in the form required by the publication.
