Kysymysteksti

This section presents four moral problems and solutions. The characters are fictional, but the situations are possible. By answering the questions and statements below the problems, you can tell us what you think about the decisions taken. Read the problems and solutions one by one and, immediately after reading them, tick the options that best reflect your own opinion. It's all about how you judge the decisions made. So don't think for too long, as the first answer that comes to mind is often the best reflection of your own attitude. Respect for the religious beliefs of the deceased. Jyrki's elderly, religious mother died after being unconscious for about a year. As the closest relative, Jyrki was given responsibility for the funeral arrangements. Because of her illness, the mother was unable to make any special requests for her own funeral. Jyrki himself is not a religious person, nor are his mother's surviving relatives. After careful consideration, Jyrki organised a very small funeral for his mother in the presence of her closest relatives, without even inviting a priest.

Moral dilemma: Respect for the religious beliefs of the deceased. Jyrki's decision: Good manners include inviting a minister to bless the deceased to rest in the peace
