Abstract
The data includes interviews with men working in the media, health and social services and logistics sectors about their working life, health and self-care.
The interviews started with questions about the interviewee's work situation and job description. They were also asked about work-related questions, such as their own workload. The majority of the interview questions were related to self-care. The questions included what the interviewee thinks self-care means, how it is discussed in the interviewee's social context, and how and why the interviewee takes care of him/herself. Towards the end of the interview, the interviewee's views on self-care and gender were asked. For example, questions were asked about what kind of self-care is common among men, and how any expectations of men have influenced the way the interviewee takes care of him/herself.
The background information includes the sex, age, occupation, time of the interview and the length of the interview in minutes. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.

Trade unions disseminated the call for research through their own media channels. In addition, the researcher's personal contacts disseminated the call for research in the workplace and through their internal communication channels. A small number of interviewees were invited to participate in the study on a discretionary basis, as they had valuable information for the study and represented a hard-to-reach age or occupational group.
