The data consists of the MTME (MultiTrait MultiError) experiment design, which was included in the fifth and sixth waves of the Citizens' Opinion panel 2023 parliamentary election study. The Citizens' Opinion panel is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO).

The data includes only the answers of those who answered both waves in the correct order, answered all relevant questions and had at least one day between their answers to the different waves. Respondents were asked ten statements related to political issues in Finland. The experimental design is based on varying the number and direction of the scale points that respondents can choose from when answering these statements. Respondents answered using either five or eleven scale points, and the scale direction was either from good to bad proposal or bad to good proposal. Respondents answered two different question formats in the two waves, giving respondents two different versions of the ten statements in two rounds. These variations resulted in four possible forms for the ten statements, which resulted in six different combinations or pairs for the questionnaires. Background variables included gender, age group, level of education, whether they have a university degree or not and interest in politics.
