Sisällön kuvaus
The survey examined Finnish citizens' views on a sustainable society of the future and the public policy measures related to it. The survey was collected as part of the research project Towards EcoWelfare State (ORSI).
First, respondents were asked about their views on what the state and municipalities should do over the next ten years to reduce emissions from transport and housing, as well as to ensure work and livelihoods. The section on democracy explored opinions on measures aimed at strengthening citizen participation and the influence of different societal groups on Finland's future development. The section on public services addressed views on how key basic services and goods should be provided and funded in the future.
Next, the survey charted expectations about consumption over the next ten years, including opinions on limiting the use of natural resources and emissions. Finally, the survey included a discrete choice experiment in which respondents were presented with four of eight choice sets. In each set, they were asked to choose between two alternative future scenarios. The scenarios described potential developments in Finnish society concerning the economy, income inequality, the state of the environment, and the democratic quality of decision-making.
Background variables included the respondent's gender, year of birth, native language, region, level of education, economic activity, type of accommodation, housing tenure, household size, number of children living in the household, political party preference, and mode of travel in everyday life.

Non-probability: Quota
The sample was drawn from Taloustutkimus's online panel. The selection was based on quotas designed to ensure that the final sample would be as representative as possible of the population in terms of gender, age group, and region. However, since panelist activity varies across age groups, a relatively larger number of younger panelists were invited to reach the target number of respondents. Taloustutkimus randomly selected the panelists to be invited to the study based on the desired criteria.

Aineiston käytössä huomioitavaa
To prevent identification of respondents, the researchers removed the open‑ended responses to the response option 'Other, please specify” (kt3_Muu) regarding native language from the data and categorized postal codes into regions. Health‑related information and rarer characteristics were also removed from the open‑ended responses. In addition, the number of people in the household and the number of children living in the household were top‑coded.
Painokertoimet
There are no weight variables in the data.
