Sisällön kuvaus
The study examined Finns' working lives and labour market position, as well as their experiences, attitudes, and concerns related to work, working conditions, and digitalisation. The data were collected using the 2025 questionnaire of the International Social Survey Programme (ISSP). The data were collected as part of the Citizens' Opinion panel, which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO).
Respondents were asked how important they considered various job- and work-related characteristics, such as meaningful work, opportunities for advancement, and job security. In addition, questions covered working conditions, including work intensity, stress, working hours, remote work, and the balance between work and other areas of life.
The survey also collected information on the use of digital technologies at work, digital skills, skills development, and concerns about the impacts of technologies such as robotics and artificial intelligence on jobs, one's own work, and employment opportunities. Labour market attitudes and societal views were measured through statements concerning, among other things, the role of trade unions, employment among older workers, the value of work, and willingness to make compromises regarding working conditions in order to gain employment or avoid unemployment. Furthermore, respondents' perceptions of their likelihood of finding employment and concerns related to financial security were assessed.
Background variables in the dataset include, among others, the respondent's gender, year of birth, education, labour market status, type of employment contract, monthly gross income, marital status, household size, number of children, area of residence, trade union membership, religiosity, societal position, and voting behaviour.

Probability
The sample was drawn from the Citizen Opinion Panel and restricted to panel members recruited through a probability-based sampling frame to ensure representativeness. The sample was divided into three groups. The main group received the full questionnaire at once, with reminders sent at one-week intervals. The second group received the questionnaire in two parts, with an invitation to the second part sent one week after the first invitation. The third group also received the questionnaire in two parts, but the invitation to the second part was sent three weeks after the first invitation. The total sample size was 6,622, comprising 3,312 respondents in the main group, 1,660 in the second group, and 1,650 in the third group. Data were collected using self-completion online questionnaires. Personal email invitations containing unique survey links were distributed via QuestionPro, a secure web-based survey platform.

Aineiston käytössä huomioitavaa
Variables K82 and K83, which measure the respondent's personal monthly income and the household's monthly income, contain an unusually large number of high values. Some respondents may have reported their income as annual income instead of monthly income. This should be taken into account when analysing the data.
To protect confidentiality, the variables describing the parents' countries of birth (k85a and k85b) have been recoded at FSD. In addition, identifying information has been removed from the variables on group membership and parents' country of birth for respondents from Åland. For the same reason, variables describing the occupation of the respondent and their spouse, as well as the open-ended variable on belonging to another group, have been removed. Identifying responses have also been removed from variable K8D describing the number of subordinates. Furthermore, region has been aggregated into a larger geographical area, and the variables describing household size (K80, K81a, and K81b) have been top-coded to prevent identification.
Painokertoimet
The dataset include weighting variables to account for different sources of potential bias. Weight: Adjusted for gender, age, and education. To account for demographic imbalances, rake weights were calculated using the anesrake package in R. The raking algorithm was constrained to allow a maximum discrepancy of 1% between sample and population margins, and individual weights were capped at a maximum value of 5 to reduce the influence of extreme weights. Design_weight: Used to correct for unequal sampling probabilities for panelist reqruited via disproportionally stratified random samples. Combined_weight: The product of the rake weight weight and the design weight design_weight.
